Better Photo Analysis

When you submit a product photo for analysis, our AI now delivers even greater accuracy in reading labels:

  • Both sides matter — The AI carefully examines both the front and back of the package, since ingredients and nutrition information may appear on either side.
  • Higher resolution scanning — Enhanced image processing allows the system to capture even small print and side panel text with greater precision.
  • Smarter extraction — Ingredients are now more reliably detected, even when located in less obvious areas such as side flaps or bottom panels.

If you’ve previously experienced issues with missing ingredient information, you should now see significantly improved results.

Automatic AI Analysis for Product Submissions

We’ve also introduced a powerful new feature to streamline the addition of new products to our database.

  • Instant AI processing — When you submit photos through the in-app product registration form, our proprietary AI automatically analyzes the images as soon as the form is sent.
  • Ready in seconds — This means that within just a few seconds, the product is processed and added to our system.
  • Scan again to view results — If you scan the same product shortly after submitting it, you’ll already see the complete analysis available in the app.

This enhancement significantly reduces waiting time and ensures that new products become accessible to the entire community almost instantly.

More Accurate Scores for Specific Food Categories

We’ve fine-tuned our evaluation approach for several food categories to ensure fairer and more context-aware scoring:

Every scan now includes a behind-the-scenes confidence check to ensure the reliability of the results. Before presenting a score, our system verifies:

  • Are the ingredients complete and readable?
  • Do we recognize the key ingredients?
  • Is the nutrition data consistent and reliable?

If a product’s data does not meet our quality standards, we’ll let you know rather than displaying a potentially misleading score. This ensures that every health score you see is based on solid and trustworthy information.

As part of this enhancement to our proprietary AI, the update impacts our entire product database. This means that products you scanned in the past may now display a slightly different health score.
